That's normal. The way the new tilesets work is that any tile can have any graphic assigned to it, via the animation editor. One benefit of this is that you don't have to include all the frames of an animated tile or the mask portion of a masked tile in the actual tiles, just in the graphics. If you...

This tool is really dang neat but my problem still persists. Strange, it's not caused by a faulty tilehead, I only have 1 tileset as of now and that tileset is set to be used for all levels. However, the tileset I have has the standard tileset dimensions, it's not the extended 910 tile tileset that...

I didn't know that, but here's an editor anyway.

You need to have a TILEHEAD.CK1 and at least one .tls tileset file. Also, my Tileset Tool program is purpose made for making V2 tilesets. Iirc, the KeenGraph feature to make tilesets was a stop-gap measure and may not be maintained. (KG is still essential for editing other graphics, though.) I'm not...

I've been playing with the tilesettool and exported the bmp. The dimension of the bmp change from 208 x 1120 to 16 x 14560 and makes it impossible to modify the bmp tileset. Is there a way to resave it as 208 x 1120 ? I will add that to my to-do list. For now, if you choose "Export to external...

The patch has been updated so that light switches and color cycling can work together now. I also fixed a significant but hard to detect bug in the previous version. The updated download now contains a demo where the colors in level 1 are different, bright cyan cycles from light to dark, and the lig...

Benvolio: Yes, each level can have its own palette. That palette is stored in the tileset however, so to get different colors you need a different tileset file. Tileset Tool takes care of embedding the palettes. All levels will use the same colors if you don't use V2, and it will require you to patc...

This is not just so much for me, but for newer modders; I have had three modders so far give up on the old tileset tool because they couldn't figure out how things were supposed to work... Why doesn't anybody tell me these things? I want to know all about people's experiences with my software so th...

What's not working for you? I had hoped to have my mod completed as the tech demo, but that's not going to happen anytime soon. What would you need in a demo mod?

whattt, this is insane. V2's multiple tilesets always intrigued me for their potential to vastly expand artistic capacity in modding, and now this is just... god, I wish I wasn't so lazy. I'd love to push the limits of this stuff. Me too. I've been working on a mod in parallel with this, but it has...

I've finally gotten around to cross-compiling some copies of the git version. It includes support for a new version of the palette patch with per-tileset palettes and color-cycling in addition to the fading and custom darkness from my earlier version. You can find the new patch here. Cross-compiling...

Palette Patch for V2 (updated 2012-11-30)

This is an add-on patch for lemm's V2 tilesets patch for Keen1. (It may also work without V2 with reduced features.) Now, each level can have its own palette! That palette is stored in the tileset however, so to get different colors you need a different tileset file. Tileset Tool takes care of embed...

What I mean is, that when I had tried this before, once the image went away the level was a garbled mess and Keen got killed by something. I was trying to replace the status box with a full screen image.
