Here is the current download of KeenWright, along with its source code. There are two version in the download: the old QuickBasic version, and the new (but unfinished) Visual Basic version. The latter is distributed under the terms of the GPL (included in the zip file), which basically says that you can do what you want with it as long as you also release your changes under the GPL. I encourage anyone who wants to play around with it and modify it.
As for the QuickBasic version, I don't want anyone changing it: basically I want it to die as soon as the replacement is running properly, as it has too many problems.

So, can I edit it for my own use? But can't release the changed version ever? (Talking about Q-Basic one..)
Well, anyways, pretty cool, BUT, the link doesn't work!!
Edit: Oh, the correct link seems to be:

Well, if you do make some good changes, and compile it, run it by me and I'll decide.
And the link is now fixed, thanks.
By "kill", I only meant halting development, not erasing it from existence ;) |

I think there wouldn't be much competion; mostly because most of Keeners seem to want to see Keen tools for Windows, or aren't interested about modifing that, mostly because there already is good Keen editors (and that's good editor as it is).
Oh, and probably I won't find time for doing anything on it for many weeks, if I ever do.
But it's good for those who start to make new editors. |

How do you compile it?
I've tried QB45 but can't include the asm.
How, How, How?
And in VB There is a class missing. Can't remember what but it was something to do with the graphics. I have VB5 Enterprise. |

| Take the URL and replace 'http://durdin.net/andy/keen/modding/' with 'http://keenmodding.org/'. |

These, and more files can be found at http://files.keenmodding.org/ -- I've updated the links above accordingly.
And as for what I said way back then about not wanting anyone to change the DOS keenwright, I've changed my mind since. Do with it whatever you like! |
