|
|
| The mods I started earlier may not ever be finished, as I have become interested in different things. However, I think I want to make a new mod with a trick that makes it look like it has many colors instead of 16: At certain situations, the palette switches to a completely different one: For example, maybe the map has a blueish palette, while the levels have more grayish ones. And all through out, it still only uses 16 colors at a time. I'd still be willing to make a new mod without this, but this idea could potentially make for great modding opportunities. I'll set up the files so that I can easily modify the tiles, BMPs, and sprites. :) |

| Something like Duke Nukum 2, which many have assumed was 256 color? I must admit even I was fooled for a while. I have no doubt Lemm has been considering this. |

Every level would be easy. In fact I was considering throwing it in with that multi tileset patch, but I didn't know how many people would use it, because it would affect sprites and fonts as well as tiles and you'd have sprites looking weird in a different pallete... but maybe that can be carefully thought out.
It is also possible to change palette after every horizontal line.
But I don't know how you could get 256 colours like that... |

| The first row of pixels would be palette A, the second Row palette B, third row palette A, etc etc |

So 32 colors.
However, given some creative mixing you could make it seem like more. Still, probably not practical. |

| Could make for some interesting "underwater" effects, though. :) |
